Overview of Session:

Children’s Services are very aware that information sharing between us is critical. When Children's Services complete an assessment of a child and family (under section 17 or section 47 of The Children Act) they send a form asking for information. At the moment these requests are sent as an email with an attached Word document to be completed and emailed back.

Children’s Services met with multi-agency colleagues earlier this year, including schools, to think about a better method. All agreed that this innovation was worth pursuing.

The proposal is that Children’s Services would still send an email, but it would have a link, you click on the link and the same information sharing form is there for you to complete. When you press ‘submit’ it automatically zooms back to Children's Services and populates the child/young person's social care record. Everything is in one place, it is secure, there is no risk of emails or information going astray and you can download the information you have provided as a PDF at the time or later.  Super!
